What it does
Travel expense tracker
As a travel expense app, it ties every expense to a trip and a day. Days are work, leisure, mixed or travel, and you can change a day with one tap; its expenses are re-split instantly.
Receipt scanner
It works as a receipt scanner app: take a photo, and amount and date are read on the phone itself, even offline. Card numbers are masked except the last four digits.
Automatic split with reasons
Hotel by nights, flight minus the extra fare from staying longer, mixed days at the end of your last meeting. Each line says which rule applied, and you can override it.
Any currency
Each expense is converted to your home currency at the rate of its payment date, and the rate is saved with it, so the report never shifts.
Report your employer accepts
PDF with the receipts attached, or CSV for your finance team's system. Only the business part, totals exact to the cent.
Your company's rules
Hotel limits, daily allowances and "always personal" categories such as alcohol, applied to every trip (Pro).

What to look for in any expense report app
Whether you choose BlendTrip or something else, check these before you trust an app with your next trip:
- Totals that add up to the cent. Rounding errors in split or converted amounts are the most common reason reports get sent back.
- The exchange rate of the payment date, saved with the expense, not recalculated later.
- Offline capture. Receipts happen on planes and in the metro.
- An export your finance team can use without retyping: PDF with receipts for people, CSV for systems.
- Privacy: where receipt photos are stored, and that card numbers are masked.
